Etihad Cargo Expands Freight Capacity to Meet Growing Demand in Greater China

ABU DHABI – In response to the surging demand for freight services in Greater China, Etihad Cargo has announced a significant expansion of its logistics operations. The division of Etihad Airways (EY) plans to increase its flight frequency to and from China from 11 flights in 2024 to 18 flights by 2025. This expansion represents a remarkable 64% increase in service frequency, ensuring that customers have greater access to reliable air freight solutions.

Enhancements to Etihad Cargo’s China Operations

To support this increased demand, Etihad Cargo will enhance its fleet by introducing a wet-leased Boeing 747F, which will facilitate freight movements on high-demand routes. This move will provide customers with greater flexibility for shipping cargo between vital global markets, ensuring that their logistics needs are met efficiently.

  • New Flight Additions:
    • Shenzhen (SZX): 3 additional weekly freighter flights
    • London (LHR): 2 additional weekly flights

The expanded operations will strengthen connectivity between China, Europe, and the Middle East, increasing capacity for transporting critical shipments, including e-commerce goods, pharmaceuticals, and perishables.
