Etihad Airways Expands Network with 10 New Destinations Starting in 2025
Etihad Airways is set to enhance travel options to Abu Dhabi by introducing 10 new destinations in 2025. This strategic expansion aims to attract tens of thousands of visitors to the UAE capital, further solidifying Etihad’s role in international aviation.
In a recent press release dated November 25, 2024, Etihad Airways announced that this ambitious initiative is part of its broader expansion program. CEO Antonoaldo Neves emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “Launching ten new destinations in a single day underscores our commitment to growing our airline with a route network and world-class, customer-focused service.”
New Routes and Schedule
The new routes will commence on July 2, 2025, with round-trip flights connecting Abu Dhabi and Atlanta, USA, operating four times a week using an Airbus A350. The following highlights the planned schedule for these new destinations:
- Abu Dhabi to Taipei: Daily flights starting September 7–8, 2025, operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
- Abu Dhabi to Medan, Indonesia: Three flights per week from October 2025, using an Airbus A321LR.
- Abu Dhabi to Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Five flights per week beginning October 2025, serviced by Airbus A321LR.
- Abu Dhabi to Krabi, Thailand: Daily flights also starting in October 2025 with an Airbus A321LR.
- Abu Dhabi to Tunis, Tunisia: Three flights per week beginning November 1, 2025, operated with an Airbus A321LR.
Additionally, Etihad will introduce four more routes in November 2025, connecting Abu Dhabi with Chiang Mai and Hanoi in Thailand, Hong Kong in China, and Algiers. Chiang Mai, Hanoi, and Algiers will utilize the Airbus A321LR, while the Hong Kong route will be serviced by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Supporting Infrastructure
Zayed International Airport (AUH) will play a crucial role in supporting these new destinations, ensuring that travelers enjoy a seamless experience when flying into Abu Dhabi.
“2025 marks a pivotal year for Etihad, with more than 90 destinations in over 50 countries and a fleet of more than 110 aircraft, welcoming over 20 million guests onboard,” Neves added. “Most importantly, it will support us in bringing over a million visitors to Abu Dhabi.”
