EVA Air Expands with Direct Dallas Flights Starting 2025
EVA Air Expands Global Reach with New Dallas-Fort Worth Route
EVA Air, the premier Taiwanese airline, has announced exciting expansion plans, including a new direct route from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW). This strategic move, set to launch on November 3, 2025, will bolster EVA Air’s connectivity to one of the world’s busiest airports, catering to the rising demand for international travel and business connections.
The new flight will cover a distance of 7,718 miles (12,349 km) and will operate five times a week using advanced aircraft, including the Boeing 777-300ER and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This route not only enhances travel options for passengers but also strengthens EVA Air’s position in the competitive aviation market.
Dallas: A Growing Hub for Business Travel
Dallas has emerged as a vibrant business hub, ranking as the third-busiest airport globally in terms of passenger volume. The city attracts high-tech companies migrating from Silicon Valley, leading to increased business travel. EVA Air’s new route will provide seamless connections to Central and South America through DFW, ensuring high passenger and cargo load factors.
Strategic Growth Amid Rising Demand
During a recent stakeholder briefing, EVA Air highlighted its commitment to aligning with the robust recovery in passenger demand across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and worldwide. The airline has reported significant growth, with nearly double-digit increases in global passenger numbers.
Key statistics from January to October 2024 showcase this trend, revealing an 8.4% increase in passenger revenues compared to the same period in 2023. The airline experienced a 2% rise in passenger volumes and a 9.7% increase in capacity. Notably, 44% of revenue came from routes to North and South America, further emphasizing the importance of the new Dallas route.
Preparing for Peak Travel Seasons
EVA Air’s General Manager, Sun Jiaming, confirmed plans to accommodate the anticipated surge in passenger numbers during the peak travel periods of late 2024 and early 2025. To meet this demand, the airline will introduce Spring Festival charter flights to Hakodate Airport in Hokkaido (HKD) and additional flights to renowned cherry blossom destinations in Japan, such as Aomori and Matsuyama.
Furthermore, from April to October 2025, EVA Air will add new flights to Kobe Airport (UKB) to support travel demand during the Osaka World Expo, highlighting the airline’s proactive approach to expanding its service offerings.
Fleet Expansion for Future Growth
To support its ambitious growth strategy, EVA Air is also expanding its fleet. By the end of 2024, the airline will operate a total of 84 aircraft, including 17 Airbus A321s, 33 Boeing 777-300ERs, and 12 Boeing 787-10s. The addition of six more 787s in the first quarter of 2025 will increase the fleet size to 90 aircraft, with plans for another 41 new deliveries scheduled from 2026 onward.
Conclusion: A Bright Future Ahead
EVA Air’s new Dallas-Fort Worth route represents a significant step forward in the airline’s expansion strategy, tapping into the growing demand for international travel and business connections. As the airline continues to enhance its services and fleet, travelers can look forward to increased connectivity and options for their journeys.
