New Destinations from Tweed-New Haven Airport
Avelo Airlines will kick off its expansion by introducing four new nonstop routes from Southern Connecticut’s HVN Airport. These routes include flights to:
- Jacksonville, Florida (JAX)
- Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas (DFW)
- Detroit, Michigan (DTW)
- Portland, Maine (PWM)
The addition of these routes reflects Avelo’s dedication to offering Connecticut travelers more choices and convenience, as stated by Founder and CEO Andrew Levy. "We love Connecticut and are excited to continue expanding our presence here with these five new exclusive destinations," he remarked.
International Destination from Bradley International Airport
In addition to the domestic routes, Avelo Airlines will also begin service to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ) from BDL Airport. This new international route is set to launch on February 21, 2025, with flights available twice a week on a Boeing 737 aircraft. This addition will complement Avelo’s existing international services to Cancun, Mexico (CUN) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ).
Increased Capacity and Convenience
To accommodate these new routes, Avelo Airlines will assign eight aircraft specifically for HVN flights, including one Boeing 737 stationed at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). With the introduction of these five new destinations, Avelo will operate a total of 39 routes from Connecticut—31 from HVN and eight from BDL.
