Delta Launches First Non-Stop Flights from the US to Saudi Arabia
Delta Air Lines has unveiled exciting news: it will be the first airline in the United States to offer non-stop flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, beginning in October 2026.
On October 27, 2025, Delta shared information about this new route, which will utilize the Airbus A350-900. This aircraft will connect Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) with Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (RUH) three times a week.
A Strategic Move for Delta
“Launching service to Riyadh marks a key step in Delta’s global growth as we start our second century of flight,” stated Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines. This initiative aims to link travelers to a vibrant and rapidly evolving region while ensuring the quality service Delta is known for.
Bastian believes that while Americans might currently feel uncertain about visiting Saudi Arabia, the destination will likely see a rise in popularity over time.
Onboard Experience
The Delta A350-900s operating on this route will feature several classes: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main.
Passengers in Delta One can enjoy lie-flat seats, whereas Delta Premium Select offers wider seating with a deeper recline and additional amenities. Delta Comfort promises extra legroom, priority boarding, and dedicated overhead bin space.
Welcoming Global Connectivity
Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Tourism for Saudi Arabia, expressed enthusiasm about the new service. “Delta’s nonstop flights between Atlanta and Riyadh signify a vital step in enhancing global connectivity and fostering tourism, cultural exchange, and business innovation between our nations,” he said.
Transitioning Trade and Investment
Delta has pointed out that this new route will enhance the existing flow of commerce and investment between the United States and Saudi Arabia, promoting long-term economic collaboration in the region.
“This new route isn’t just about expanding reach; it’s about enabling meaningful connections. Whether for business, tourism, or cultural exchange, Delta’s presence in Riyadh opens doors to new possibilities for travelers,” noted a Delta spokesperson.
A Long-Distance Journey
At over 7,000 miles, this route is set to be one of Delta’s longest. It’s worth mentioning that Saudi Arabia-based Saudia already has direct flights to the U.S., indicating a growing interest in facilitating travel between the two nations.
