Transavia France Expands Summer Routes for 2025: New Destinations Await Travelers
Transavia France, the budget airline under the Air France-KLM umbrella, is set to enhance its summer offerings in 2025 with the announcement of 10 new summer routes. Travelers can look forward to direct flights to prominent European cities, including Brussels, Amsterdam, and Munich, as the airline aims to cater to the growing demand for affordable travel options.
Starting March 30, 2024, Transavia will operate flights from Paris-Orly (ORY) to Amsterdam-Schiphol (AMS) five times a week. Additionally, flights connecting Paris-Orly to Munich (MUC) will commence on April 3, 2025. For those in Bordeaux, the airline will introduce two weekly flights to Brussels (BRU) beginning April 18, 2025, operating on Mondays and Fridays.
New Mediterranean Routes and Domestic Connections
Transavia is not just focusing on major cities; it is also expanding its reach to the Mediterranean. The airline will introduce flights from Nantes (NTE) and Bordeaux (BOD) to Tirana (TIA), as well as routes from Marseille (MRS) to popular destinations like Djerba (DJE), Funchal (FNC), and Larnaca (LCA). Domestic travelers from Lyon (LYS) will be able to fly directly to Chania (CHQ) in Crete, while Montpellier (MPL) will gain a new connection to Bastia (BIA) in Corsica.
Strengthening Regional Airport Connections
The announcement of these new routes coincides with Transavia’s strategy to fortify its presence at various regional airports in France for the summer of 2025. Bordeaux is set to become a key hub for the airline, offering new flights to Faro (FAO) and enhancing connectivity to six other destinations. These include flights to Porto (OPO), Seville (SVQ), Marrakech (RAK), Agadir (AGA), Istanbul (IST), and Marseille (MRS).
Marseille residents will also benefit from a new direct route to Athens (ATH), and additional international connections will be established from Strasbourg (STR) to Istanbul (IST) and from Montpellier to Brussels.
Fleet Expansion with Modern Aircraft
In tandem with these route expansions, Transavia is upgrading its fleet with the addition of new Airbus A321neo aircraft. The latest addition, registered as PH-YHC, entered service on December 14, 2024. This investment is part of the airline’s commitment to transitioning from older Boeing 737 models to more efficient Airbus A320neo family aircraft, which will aid in achieving a 20% reduction in noise pollution around Amsterdam-Schiphol.
The fleet renewal program is already underway, with four Boeing 737-700s retired. Transavia aims to create a fleet that is younger, quieter, and more economical as it strives for net-zero emissions.
