Malaysia Airlines Unveils Festive Lunar New Year Menu for 2025 Celebrations
As the Lunar New Year approaches, Malaysia Airlines is set to delight its passengers with a specially curated menu designed to celebrate this festive season. Available on board flights and in the airline’s lounges until January 31, 2025, the Lunar New Year menu showcases a blend of traditional flavors and modern culinary delights.
Festive Offerings for Passengers
In a bid to enhance the travel experience, Malaysia Airlines will offer unique dishes to its business and economy class passengers. Business class travelers can indulge in Steamed Red Snapper accompanied by Red Dates and Ginger, while economy class passengers will enjoy Salted Egg Popcorn Chicken. These festive meals will be available on select routes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) to Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) and Kuching International Airport (KCH), as well as various regional and East Asian destinations.
Additionally, the airline is introducing its “Best of Asia” menu, featuring locally inspired and destination-themed dishes. This menu will be available for travelers flying from Kuala Lumpur to Incheon International Airport (ICN) starting February 28, 2025, and on flights to Southeast Asia, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching from February 1, 2025.
Exclusive Collaboration with Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur
To further elevate its dining experience, Malaysia Airlines has launched a year-long collaboration with Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. This partnership aims to enhance the food offerings at the Golden Lounge located at KUL Airport.
Guests can look forward to a special Chinese New Year menu available until February 5, 2025. The highlight of this celebration will be a Lunar New Year buffet featuring a traditional “Yee Sang” prosperity noodle tossing session. This event will take place on Chinese New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year’s Day at all Golden Lounges in Kuala Lumpur Airport.
Understanding the Tradition of “Yee Sang”
“Yee Sang” is a cherished Chinese New Year tradition where family and friends gather to toss a colorful salad of raw fish, symbolizing abundance, along with various vegetables, each representing good fortune for the upcoming year. Participants use chopsticks to toss the ingredients high into the air, with the belief that the higher the toss, the more luck and prosperity will come in the new year.
Join the Celebration!
With these exciting offerings, Malaysia Airlines is not just celebrating the Lunar New Year but also creating memorable experiences for its passengers. If you’re traveling during this festive season, be sure to indulge in the special menu and partake in the vibrant tradition of “Yee Sang.”
