Emirates Airlines has officially launched an innovative space known as the “Crew Zone” at its main headquarters in Dubai. This dedicated cabin crew area, part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing, aims to support the thousands of new cabin crew members recruited annually. The Crew Zone is designed to offer a welcoming environment for crew to meet, prepare for flights, and unwind, ensuring they are well-equipped and relaxed before taking to the skies.

According to Emirates, the Crew Zone is “a purpose-built space for crew with a contemporary, open plan design that operates 24/7.” This facility not only provides essential services but also features educational workshops, tech zones, a beauty and wellbeing hub, and an interactive lounge area specifically tailored for the needs of cabin crew.

Investment in Crew Wellbeing

The Crew Zone represents a significant investment of AED 3 million (approximately $810,000) and took nine months to plan and construct. Located on the ground floor of the Emirates Group Headquarters, the facility can accommodate up to 200 crewmembers at any given time, offering seven distinct zones aimed at enhancing cabin crew wellbeing and professional development.

Key highlights of the Crew Zone include:

  • Emirates Crew Engagement Zone: This multifunctional area connects crew members with the latest initiatives and product launches. It features interactive screens that display real-time events, allowing crew to book workshops and training sessions via their smartphones.

  • Emirates One Device Hub: Offering 24/7 support for the airline’s One Device program, this hub ensures crewmembers have access to Apple products tailored to improve passenger service onboard.

  • Crew Lounge: Designed for relaxation, this space allows crew to recharge, enjoy refreshments, or catch up with colleagues in a comfortable setting.

  • Facilities Distribution Service: A convenient area for dropping off and collecting essential documents, including visas and regulatory forms.

  • Crew Computer Zone: Equipped with high-speed internet and individual workstations, this zone supports crew members in completing tasks, booking personal flights, and printing necessary documents.

  • Crew Connect Services: Staffed 24/7, this area provides operational support for cabin crew, addressing queries about rosters and leave.

  • Emirates Beauty Hub: Launched in 2023, this hub offers personalized consultations on beauty, nutrition, and fitness, alongside group masterclasses for crew members.
