Air India Launches Daily Flights to Tokyo Haneda with 787
Air India Expands Daily Non-Stop Flights from Delhi to Tokyo Haneda
Air India, owned by the Tata Group, is set to enhance its international connectivity with the expansion of its non-stop service between Delhi (DEL) and Tokyo Haneda (HND). Starting June 15, 2025, the airline will increase its flights from four times a week to daily operations, bolstering travel options for passengers and supporting the growing trade and tourism between India and Japan.
This significant upgrade not only improves accessibility but also positions Air India as a key player in the competitive aviation market.
Air India Goes Daily to Tokyo
The transition to daily flights follows Air India’s recent move to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport from Narita on March 31, 2025. This strategic shift reduces travel time to Tokyo Station to approximately 30 minutes, making it more convenient for travelers. The service will operate using the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, known for its efficiency and passenger comfort.
“Expanding our Delhi-Tokyo Haneda service to daily flights reflects Air India’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for travel between India and Japan,” stated Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India. “This daily service, coupled with our enhanced codeshare partnership with All Nippon Airways, allows our guests to explore Japan easily and connect to other destinations beyond Tokyo.”
Enhanced Domestic and International Connections
With the introduction of daily flights, passengers can now enjoy seamless connections to various domestic Indian cities, including:
- Ahmedabad
- Bengaluru
- Chennai
- Hyderabad
- Kolkata
- Pune
Moreover, the expanded codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA) facilitates smooth transfers from Tokyo Haneda to six major cities in Japan—Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo—allowing travelers to check their baggage through to their final destinations.
Updated Flight Schedule
The new flight schedule for the Delhi-Tokyo Haneda service, effective June 15, 2025, is as follows:
- AI358: Departs Delhi (DEL) at 20:20 Hrs, arrives in Tokyo Haneda (HND) at 07:55 Hrs the next day (daily)
- AI357: Departs Tokyo Haneda (HND) at 11:50 Hrs, arrives in Delhi (DEL) at 17:25 Hrs (daily)

This exciting development not only enhances Air India’s service offerings but also strengthens the aviation ties between India and Japan.
