LATAM Expands in Brazil with 30 New Routes Using E195-E2 Jets
LATAM Airlines Group is poised to receive its order of E195-E2 jets from Embraer in a timely manner, which will enable the airline to launch between 25 and 30 new destinations within Brazil, according to CEO Jerome Cadier in an interview with Reuters.
In a significant announcement made on September 22, 2025, LATAM Airlines Group revealed an extensive fleet renewal and expansion initiative. This includes a confirmed order for as many as 74 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, comprising 24 firm orders and 50 options, with a total value nearing $2.1 billion at list prices. The initial delivery is anticipated in the latter half of 2026.
LATAM Airlines Brasil, the company’s Brazilian arm, is set to make decisions regarding the routes for these jets within a six-month timeframe, as reported by Reuters on September 26, 2025.
Cadier mentioned that a considerable portion of the jets will be delivered by the end of next year, with further deliveries unfolding in 2027.
Upon the announcement, Roberto Alvo, LATAM Airlines Group’s CEO, stated that the introduction of these new jets will facilitate the airline’s pursuit of “profitable growth” while enhancing connectivity through the launch of new destinations.
In the past four years, LATAM has successfully expanded its network, growing from 129 destinations to approximately 160.
Currently, LATAM’s fleet comprises 362 aircraft, including 283 Airbus narrowbodies, three Airbus widebodies on short-term lease, 56 Boeing widebodies, and 20 Boeing freighters.
