STARLUX Airlines Enhances US Codeshare Partnership with Alaska Airlines
On September 30, 2025, STARLUX Airlines, based in Taiwan, announced an expansion of its codeshare partnership with Alaska Airlines. This expansion will introduce 12 new U.S. cities to its codeshare network, increasing its North American reach to a total of 20 destinations connected via direct flights to Taipei.
The enhanced codeshare arrangement will link these additional cities served by Alaska Airlines to STARLUX operations at Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) via San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
The newly included cities in this agreement are Minneapolis, Atlanta, Tampa, Anchorage, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando, Washington Dulles, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Spokane, and Boise. Newark will be linked to San Francisco for onward STARLUX flights to Asia.
In a statement from the airline, it was noted, “This enhanced agreement provides U.S. travelers with streamlined booking, coordinated check-in, and smooth transfers through Alaska’s domestic network and STARLUX’s international gateways in San Francisco and Seattle.”
“Whether journeying for business, family visits, or leisure, STARLUX and Alaska Airlines’ extended partnership facilitates access to STARLUX’s premium offerings and expanding Asian network—positioning Taipei as a pivotal hub for travel throughout the region.”
The 12 new cities join eight others previously connected through the STARLUX and Alaska Airlines codeshare agreement, which include Salt Lake City, San Diego, Phoenix, Portland, Las Vegas, Dallas, Denver, and Austin. These cities have been part of the agreement since late 2024, further showcasing STARLUX’s expanding U.S. gateway strategy.
“Alaska Airlines has always been a vital partner for STARLUX,” remarked Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX. “This new chapter in our collaboration not only enhances our North American network but also affords travelers greater flexibility and efficiency when flying to Taipei and beyond. COSMILE members can now redeem mileage on Alaska flights, making every trip smoother, smarter, and more rewarding,” he added.
Alex Judson, Managing Director of Partnerships & International at Alaska Airlines, expressed, “We’re excited to expand our collaboration with STARLUX to connect even more of our network to its long-haul service from Taipei. With seamless access through Seattle and San Francisco, this next phase strengthens our shared commitment to offering travelers more choices, convenience, and premium service across the Pacific.”
STARLUX currently operates 33 routes to 29 destinations, encompassing a robust regional network across Asia and long-haul services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Ontario, California. Besides its expanded partnership with Alaska Airlines, STARLUX also collaborates with American Airlines.
Also Partnering with American Airlines
Following the announcement of new nonstop flights from Phoenix, Arizona, to Taipei starting January 15, 2025, STARLUX signed a new commercial partnership with American Airlines in August 2025. This partnership aims to provide passengers of both airlines with easier access to more routes connecting North America and Taipei.
The interline partnership between STARLUX and American Airlines intends to enhance convenience for travelers, offering single-ticket booking and through-checked luggage between American’s extensive North American network and STARLUX’s transpacific and Asian routes. This connection allows flights to Taipei from numerous American cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Charlotte, Miami, and Dallas-Fort Worth.
“As STARLUX continues to grow its route network, it remains dedicated to leveraging strategic partnerships to boost global competitiveness and deliver a seamless travel experience across North America. The airline also plans to seek additional interline agreements for passenger and cargo services, thereby establishing a more comprehensive and interconnected global network,” concluded the airline’s statement.
