Emirates Keeps Airbus A380 in Fleet Following Deal with Stratos
Emirates has finalized a deal with Stratos, an aircraft investment firm, to acquire a leased Airbus A380-800 once its term concludes in 2027.
The Airbus A380, known as A6-EOO, began its lease with Emirates in September 2015, completing nearly 5,000 flights for the airline since then.
On October 10, 2025, Stratos announced its plans to “forward sell its sole-managed A380-800” to Emirates.
Cian O’Shea, Marketing Director at Stratos, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Emirates to fulfill their long-term fleet needs. He noted that this agreement highlights their dedication to providing top-tier asset management services to their airline partners.
This agreement was negotiated on behalf of a group of institutional investors from Asia. The lease agreement was initially structured by Stratos in 2015.
A spokesperson from Stratos emphasized the company’s proficiency in managing high-value aviation assets and facilitating intricate end-of-lease transactions in partnership with major global airlines. They mentioned the close collaboration with Emirates to ensure a seamless transition that aligns with the airline’s fleet strategy and operational needs.
As it stands, A6-EOO is configured to accommodate 429 passengers in economy class, 76 in business class, and 14 in first class.
Reports from FlightAware indicate that the aircraft’s most recent flight occurred on August 19, 2025, from Milan to Dubai.
Currently, Emirates operates 93 Airbus A380-800s, with 25 of them classified as inactive.
