American Airlines Launches New Routes from New York and Dallas
FORT WORTH- American Airlines (AA) is set to enhance its domestic network for the summer of 2026 by adding new seasonal routes from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
The updated schedule includes new flights from JFK to Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) in Wyoming and from DFW to Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) in Colorado. Both routes are expected to launch on June 18, 2026, and will operate through early autumn.

American Airlines Adds New Flights
From June 18 to October 4, American Airlines will provide direct flights between JFK and Jackson Hole using the Airbus A319.
This service will offer travelers a convenient route to Grand Teton National Park and the southern entrance of Yellowstone after a pause in operations for several years.
Furthermore, American Eagle, the regional branch of American Airlines, is set to increase connectivity from New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) with new weekend flights to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) starting February 13, 2026.
As reported, these flights will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to meet the rising leisure travel demand from New York.

Expanding Dallas-Fort Worth Connectivity
The DFW–Gunnison route will operate seasonally from June 18 to September 8, 2026, also utilizing the Airbus A319.
This new service will connect users from North Texas to Colorado’s stunning mountain regions, including Gunnison National Park and Blue Mesa Reservoir.
American Airlines will face indirect competition, as United Airlines operates seasonal flights to Gunnison from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Houston Intercontinental (IAH), while JSX offers options to Dallas-Love Field (DAL).

LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach
American Airlines is also set to offer seasonal flights from LaGuardia to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) in South Carolina.
This route, operated with the Embraer E175, will run from March 13 to September 8, 2026, featuring 76 seats, including 12 in First Class, 20 in Main Cabin Extra, and 44 in Main Cabin. This setup balances premium comfort and broader accessibility for passengers.
In addition to this new service, American already operates year-round flights to Charlotte (CLT), Philadelphia (PHL), and Washington National (DCA), along with seasonal flights to both Chicago O’Hare and DFW.

Bottom Line
American Airlines’ route expansion for 2026 highlights its commitment to enhancing domestic connectivity and meeting the increasing demand for leisure travel.
The addition of Jackson Hole and Gunnison to its available routes reflects the airline’s strategic approach to diversify its seasonal offerings while reinforcing its hubs in New York and Dallas/Fort Worth.
