Etihad Achieves Milestone with 300 Daily Flights Amid Rapid Growth

Etihad Airways has announced a significant milestone, now operating 300 scheduled passenger flights daily. This surge is fueled by robust global demand and ongoing expansion within its network.

In a statement released on October 20, 2025, the airline referred to this achievement as a “new milestone,” highlighting that it reflects their “strongest performance to date.” This positions Etihad as one of the “fastest-growing full-service airlines worldwide.”

Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations and Guest Officer at Etihad Airways, commented, “Year-on-year growth across all key metrics reflects the strength of our network and Abu Dhabi’s growing position as a global aviation hub.” He emphasized that this progress is efficient, sustainable, and purposeful, driven by the dedication of the airline’s staff and the ongoing trust placed in them by their passengers.

Growth and Expansion

The achievement of 300 daily flights follows one of the airline’s most ambitious years in expansion. In September 2025, Etihad’s network capacity saw a boost of 25% compared to the previous year. This expansion included the addition of 31 new destinations in 2025, such as Medan in Sumatra, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, and Krabi in Thailand. This brings Etihad’s global network close to 90 destinations.

Europe has emerged as a key area for growth, with flights across the continent increasing by 35% in summer 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

Fleet Expansion

Etihad’s fleet has also seen significant growth, expanding to 115 aircraft, up from 96 in September 2024. Key additions include new A350s, 787 Dreamliners, the return of two more A380s, and new A321LRs. These A321LRs feature private First Suites and lie-flat Business Class seats, enhancing the travel experience on medium-haul routes and setting a new standard for premium narrowbody travel.

In September 2025, the airline transported 1.9 million passengers, representing a 21% increase compared to the same month the previous year, while achieving an impressive 89% passenger load factor. Throughout the first nine months of 2025, Etihad carried 16.1 million passengers, marking an 18% rise year-on-year.

The airline’s growth has been supported by its hub at Zayed International Airport (ZIA), which can accommodate 45 million passengers annually and has 65 gates. This infrastructure is essential for efficient operations.

Financial Health

In September 2025, Etihad reported a 32% increase in profits during the first half of the year, with total revenue rising by 16% compared to 2024.
