Southwest Airlines Launches Five New Routes Along the West Coast

CALIFORNIA- Southwest Airlines (WN) has unveiled a significant expansion along the West Coast, launching five new routes and enhancing key frequencies for the summer 2026 timetable. This update features added connections to Hawaii and an expanded service in vital Pacific Northwest locations.

Expansion of Routes to Honolulu

Southwest has confirmed the launch of two new nonstop routes from Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) directly to Honolulu. The ONT to HNL service is set to commence on June 4, 2025, with daily flights, providing residents of suburban Los Angeles with a direct link to Hawaii.

Meanwhile, the BUR to HNL route will begin on August 4, 2025, operating on peak travel days. With these additions, Southwest’s Hawaii network expands to ten nonstop routes linking HNL with the U.S. mainland.

In addition to its Hawaii routes, Southwest will also introduce flights from Long Beach Airport (LGB) to both Portland International Airport (PDX) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), beginning August 4.
