Saudia Launches First Flight with Complimentary High-Speed WiFi

Saudia Airlines is proud to announce its launch of the first fully internet-enabled flight, offering free high-speed WiFi to all passengers, regardless of their travel class.

The service, which began on November 1, 2025, is currently in a pilot phase. Passengers can enjoy internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps. With future plans to upgrade this to 800 Mbps, the airline aims to expand this offering across its entire fleet.

Onboard, travelers can effortlessly switch between multiple devices without any interruption. This service allows them to browse the web, stream videos, or even participate in virtual meetings while flying. So far, about 20 aircraft in Saudia Airlines’ fleet are equipped with this advanced connectivity, with plans to expand it as legal procedures are finalized.

Particularly beneficial for business travelers and international passengers, this initiative ensures that staying productive at high altitudes is more convenient than ever.

Saudia’s commitment to free high-speed WiFi stands out among regional competitors. While Emirates began offering free onboard WiFi in May 2023, access to high-speed options often depends on cabin class or membership in its rewards program.

Qatar Airways has also made strides, providing high-speed WiFi at speeds reaching 500 Mbps on its Boeing 777 fleet since July 2025. They too plan to extend these offerings to their A350 aircraft, ensuring reliable internet service for all passengers.

With these advancements, how do you think in-flight internet connectivity will change the travel experience?
