H2 Qatar Airways Expands African Network

Qatar Airways is enhancing its presence in Africa by launching a new codeshare partnership with Air Algérie. This collaboration will connect travelers from Algeria to major locations in Asia and the Middle East through Hamad International Airport (DOH).

H2 New Travel Opportunities Starting November 15, 2025

Beginning on November 3, 2025, passengers will have the option to book these codeshare flights. The flights will officially commence on November 15, 2025, allowing for seamless travel between the two airlines’ networks.

H3 Enhanced Accessibility for Passengers

With this codeshare, Qatar Airways travelers will gain easier access to Algiers and six other crucial destinations in Air Algérie’s domestic network. These include Annaba, Constantine, Oran, Tamanrasset, Timimoun, and Tindouf.

H3 Increased Options for Air Algérie Passengers

Conversely, Air Algérie will provide its passengers with more routes to cities like Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Muscat via Hamad International Airport. This agreement is anticipated to expand, incorporating additional destinations shortly.

Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to expand our partnership with Air Algérie through this new codeshare agreement. This collaboration will offer travelers greater choice and seamless connectivity to the Middle East and Asia.”

Samy El Karim Boutemadja, Air Algérie’s Head of Commercial Division, highlighted that this agreement aligns with Air Algérie’s global strategy, enhancing connections through its hub in Algiers. He remarked, “This codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways will certainly give Air Algérie the opportunity to enhance the company’s positioning in the Middle East and Asia, offering its customers more possibilities to reach new destinations, as well as promoting travel to Algeria.”

H3 Qatar Airways’ Global Reach

Currently, Qatar Airways operates flights to over 170 global destinations and maintains 30 interline and six codeshare agreements with various airlines across Africa. They operate 213 weekly flights to 30 cities in 21 African countries.

H3 Air Algérie’s Extensive Network

Air Algérie, on the other hand, offers service to more than 80 destinations through regular and charter flights, carrying out an average of 300 flights daily. The airline has successfully developed a network of over 200 routes.
