Korean Air Partners with Condor to Reestablish Korea-Germany Flights
Korean Air has announced a collaboration with German airline Condor Airlines, aimed at simplifying travel between Korea and Germany. This partnership marks the first integrated domestic connections within Germany in over a decade, according to the airline.
Beginning on November 1, 2025, travelers on Korean Air from Seoul’s Incheon Airport (ICN) to Frankfurt Airport (FRA) will have the ability to connect seamlessly to other cities in Germany through Condor’s domestic network.
This new agreement is significant as it allows for the booking of through-tickets with baggage checked all the way to various destinations within Germany. It’s been more than ten years since Korean Air provided such a service.
Connections will initially include major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich. Alongside Condor, Korean Air intends to expand these offerings in time for the upcoming summer flight schedule.
The partnership utilizes a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA), enabling both airlines to sell tickets collaboratively and streamline baggage handling for travelers.
For passengers, this means a single ticket booking rather than juggling two separate ones, eliminating the hassle of collecting and rechecking luggage at Frankfurt Airport.
This arrangement effectively addresses a connectivity gap that Korean travelers have faced for years. Previously, those flying beyond Frankfurt were required to purchase separate tickets on German domestic flights or seek alternative routes.
Now, with Condor offering frequent domestic flights from Frankfurt, Korean Air passengers can easily access business hubs, tourist attractions, and family visits across Germany without the stress of managing multiple bookings.
This move is part of Korean Air’s wider strategy to rejuvenate and expand its European network, responding to the growing demand for international travel beyond pre-pandemic levels.
What do you think about this new partnership? Are you looking forward to more convenient travel options between Korea and Germany?
