Though the controversial metal devices remain in check-in lobbies, passengers who bypass check-in will no longer encounter them at the gates.
Flight attendants have expressed significant concerns regarding this decision, fearing it may simply move the problem of oversized luggage from the gate to the cabin, which could result in chaotic situations and safety issues during flights.
