Qatar Airways Unveils 3,000 Additional Flights for Winter 2025-26

DOHA- Qatar Airways (QR) is set to enhance its winter offerings by increasing flight availability across key cities, including Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Lagos (LOS), Shanghai (PVG), and Singapore (SIN). In response to the growing global travel interest, the airline plans to introduce nearly 3,000 additional flights this season as part of its expanded schedule.

This strategy aims to boost connectivity through Hamad International Airport (DOH), providing travelers with more choices in significant global markets.

Qatar Airways Expands Winter Flights

Qatar Airways is implementing specific capacity increases to accommodate both regional and long-haul passenger demand. This move aligns with the airline’s focus on enhancing service frequency on its most popular routes.

Starting on 17 December 2025, flights to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) will increase from 14 to 17 weekly, improving connectivity between Southeast Asia and major cities like Jeddah, London, and Paris via DOH.

From 15 December 2025 to 28 March 2026, Abuja (LOS) will see an expansion from 10 to 14 weekly flights. This change responds to Nigeria’s increasing appetite for international journeys and enhances links to places like Delhi and Guangzhou.

In Shanghai (PVG), flights will rise from 7 to 10 weekly between 1 January and 28 March 2026, further supporting travel demand to and from China.

Additionally, starting on 12 January 2026, selected flights to Singapore (SIN) will be operated using the Airbus A380, upgrading the travel experience on this high-demand route.

Fleet and In-Flight Improvements

To support its extensive operations, Qatar Airways utilizes a diversified fleet, including Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft outfitted with high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi.

As a pioneer, the airline leads the globe by equipping and operating over 100 widebody aircraft with this technology, and it’s the first in the MENA region to do so.

Both Economy and Premium cabin passengers enjoy complimentary gate-to-gate Wi-Fi, with speeds reaching up to 500 Mbps.

Constantly refining its schedule, Qatar Airways monitors travel trends to adjust capacity according to leisure and business demand, reflecting a commitment to accessibility and strong global connections.

Fast Expansion of Starlink Services

Qatar Airways has successfully equipped over 100 widebody jets with Starlink’s high-speed Wi-Fi, connecting flights from Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) to essential global markets.

Now, more than half of its widebody fleet utilizes Starlink, enabling over 30,000 flights with dependable gate-to-gate connectivity—a significant achievement ahead of schedule.

The airline is executing one of the swiftest Starlink adoption plans in commercial aviation, with the Boeing 777 fleet fully outfitted and the Airbus A350 completion nearing its conclusion.

Operating up to 200 flights daily with Starlink service, passengers can stream, work, and stay connected throughout their travels. This complimentary service often surpasses home Wi-Fi speeds.

As Starlink extends across a network covering over 170 destinations, Qatar Airways ensures seamless connectivity for both business and leisure travel on all six continents.

Passenger Experience at 35,000 Feet

With Starlink, Qatar Airways has elevated the in-flight experience by enabling streaming, gaming, and real-time communication. As the only airline in MENA with Starlink, it operates the largest fleet of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft globally.
