Latvian airline airBaltic has proudly added its 51st Airbus A220-300 jet to its fleet in Riga, marking the second delivery for this aircraft type in 2025.

In an announcement, airBaltic confirmed that the new Airbus A220-300 joined the fleet officially on December 1, 2025, after completing its delivery flight from Mirabel, Canada.

According to Flightradar24, the aircraft, registered as YL-BTA, completed a 6,342-kilometer journey on flight BT9802, landing in Riga at 09:08 local time after a flight duration of seven hours and 47 minutes.

Since May 2020, airBaltic has adopted a single aircraft model for its operations—the Airbus A220-300. This strategy simplifies operations and enhances efficiency, benefiting the airline’s overall performance.

airBaltic reports that the Airbus A220-300 has exceeded its expectations in various areas, offering significant improvements in fuel efficiency and a better experience for both passengers and crew.

Passengers enjoy a more comfortable experience on the A220-300, featuring wider seats, larger windows, increased luggage space, and upgraded lavatories. Furthermore, this aircraft is quieter, producing only half the noise compared to the previous generation.

Additionally, the A220-300 is environmentally friendly, reducing CO2 and NOX emissions by 25% and 50%, respectively, compared to older models and industry standards.

The airline is also progressively enhancing its fleet with free SpaceX Starlink internet, aiming for all A220-300 aircraft to be connected by the end of 2025.
