AJet Teams Up with DAE for 10 New Boeing 737-8 Aircraft Acquisition
AJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, has recently entered into a long-term leasing arrangement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) to acquire 10 brand-new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. This agreement signifies a significant step in AJet’s evolution, which took flight in 2024 following the rebranding of AnadoluJet.
On December 3, 2025, DAE announced that AJet is set to receive the new Boeing 737-8 jets between 2026 and 2027. This addition to their fleet marks a pivotal moment for the airline as it plans to broaden its services significantly.
AJet’s ambitious strategy includes expanding its fleet to 200 aircraft over the next decade, along with operating flights to 44 countries. This expansion will cover an impressive 42 domestic routes and 80 international connections.
Firoz Tarapore, CEO of DAE, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to be chosen by long-time customer Turkish Airlines to provide them a solution to AJet’s growing fleet requirements with these new technology, fuel-efficient aircraft. Türkiye is a fast-growing market, with flight movements increasing 5.7% in the first half of 2025, according to Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport.”
He further expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank Turkish Airlines and AJet for their ongoing trust in DAE and wish them much success with their new fleet additions.”
Currently, AJet operates a fleet of 83 aircraft, which includes 42 Boeing 737-800s, 12 737-8s, 12 Airbus A321neos, three A320neos, 10 A321s, and six A320s. Data indicates that 56 of these aircraft have been wet-leased to AJet, showcasing their operational flexibility.
In July 2025, AJet solidified its growth strategy by entering a lease agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital for five Airbus A320neo aircraft. This expansion is further supported by another contract with CDB Aviation, a branch of China Development Bank Financial Leasing, for 12 737-8s, of which six are already in service with AJet.
How do you think this fleet expansion will impact AJet’s operations and customer experience in the coming years?
