World’s Largest Interior Super-Midsize Jet Successfully Takes Its First Flight

SAVANNAH- Gulfstream Aerospace has successfully completed the first flight of the Gulfstream G300 super-midsize jet. This historic flight took off from Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) at 8:05 AM local time, lasting 2 hours and 25 minutes while cruising at Mach 0.75 and 30,000 feet (9,144 meters).

Unveiled on September 30 in Savannah, the G300 represents a significant milestone in Gulfstream’s innovative fleet and initiates an extensive flight testing program.

Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, has described the G300 as a revolutionary aircraft that surpasses expectations for large-cabin amenities in a mid-sized jet.

Gulfstream G300’s First Flight

The achievement of the first flight comes after the completion of over 2,000 hours of ground testing. Two additional test aircraft are set to enter production to facilitate the certification process.

The G300 enhances Gulfstream’s next-generation fleet, ensuring that the manufacturer has a solution for every flying requirement.

This jet boasts a leading range of 3,600 nautical miles (6,667 kilometers) at Mach 0.80 and 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 kilometers) at Mach 0.84, thanks to its aerodynamically optimized Gulfstream wings and Honeywell HTF7250G engines, which deliver excellent fuel efficiency.

Its design includes the lowest cabin altitude in its class, hitting 4,800 feet (1,463 meters) when flying at 41,000 feet (12,497 meters).

Spacious Interior

The G300 is renowned for having the largest cabin among super-midsize jets, accommodating up to 10 passengers.

With ten Gulfstream Panoramic Oval Windows, the interior is bright and airy, featuring two distinct living areas. The cabin comes equipped with a well-appointed galley, abundant baggage space, and offers 100% fresh air circulation along with a standard plasma air ionization system, all designed to provide an exceptionally quiet environment.
