Copa Airlines Launches In-Flight Wi-Fi for All Flights
Copa Airlines, based in Panama, has just announced an exciting development: they will be introducing internet connectivity throughout their entire fleet.
This announcement, made on January 21, 2026, was delivered with enthusiasm on their social media platforms, declaring (in Spanish) that "The wait is over!"
A tweet from Copa Airlines reads:

At this point, details regarding the launch of this service remain scarce, with the rollout set to begin in October 2026. The airline has yet to reveal their technology provider, the specific technology to be implemented, or the service’s terms.
Copa’s decision comes in response to similar announcements from its competitors in the Latin American airline sector. Notably, Avianca mentioned in December 2025 that they plan to equip their entire fleet with internet access by 2027. Additionally, LATAM Airlines indicated in July 2025 that Wi-Fi would soon be available on all long-haul flights.
United Airlines, a key member of the Star Alliance and a significant competitor in the U.S. to Panama market, began its rollout of high-speed internet from SpaceX’s Starlink in October 2025. Meanwhile, American Airlines, which is active in the Caribbean and Latin America like Copa, is currently negotiating with Amazon to enhance its inflight internet services.
Despite Copa Airlines mainly operating single-aisle aircraft, they conduct several long-haul routes connecting Tocumen International Airport (PTY) with destinations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Canada, and the northeastern United States. Implementing internet connectivity will significantly improve the travel experience for their passengers.
