Riyadh Air and SATS Team Up for New Cargo Handling Solutions
Riyadh Air, a new airline in the Middle East, has entered into a significant five-year partnership with SATS. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing cargo handling services at important airports throughout Saudi Arabia.
SATS Saudi Arabia will play a crucial role in establishing robust cargo operations at King Khalid International Airport (RUH). Additionally, support will extend to King Fahd International Airport (DMM) in Dammam and King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah.
Under this agreement announced on August 18, 2025, SATS Saudi Arabia will also cultivate top-notch hub management capabilities specifically for Riyadh Air.
Adam Boukadida, CFO of Riyadh Air, remarked on the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with SATS Saudi Arabia marks a pivotal milestone in Riyadh Air’s journey to become a leading global carrier.” He emphasized that by leveraging SATS’ advanced cargo handling capabilities and extensive network, the airline is well-positioned to create a high-quality air cargo service from the outset.
He further noted, “This partnership enables us to deliver operational excellence, high-value logistics solutions, and strategic connectivity across key global trade lanes.”
SATS Saudi Arabia will offer a comprehensive suite of dedicated cargo handling services from its existing 60,000 square-meter airfreight terminal located at RUH.
Through this partnership, Riyadh Air gains immediate access to SATS’ expansive global network, which boasts over 225 stations, complemented by more than 250 airline partners and leading freight forwarders.
The collaboration supports Riyadh Air in launching a diverse range of cargo products and services, positioning the airline to gain a competitive edge in both regional and global markets.
Bob Chi, CEO of Gateway Services for Asia Pacific at SATS, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are honored that Riyadh Air has selected SATS as a trusted partner for its ambitious cargo growth journey.” He stressed the alignment of Riyadh Air’s goals to connect over 100 destinations globally by 2030 with SATS’ commitment to delivering world-class air cargo solutions.

British Airways is expanding its flight routes to Italy for summer 2025, introducing three new destinations. Starting in May 2025, the airline will offer flights from London-Heathrow to Rimini, London-Gatwick to Salerno, and London-City to Olbia, marking a total of 19 Italian destinations for British Airways.
