Etihad Airways Expands European Flight Offerings: New Destinations Unveiled

ABU DHABI- Etihad Airways is gearing up to enhance its European offerings during the summer season in 2026. The airline will introduce additional services to Dublin Airport (DUB) and Prague (PRG), thereby improving connectivity through Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH).

This initiative is part of the airline’s broader strategy to establish Abu Dhabi as a significant destination and a crucial transit point. Increased flight options will provide travelers from Europe easier access to Asia, Australia, and the Indian Ocean region.

Etihad Airways Expands European Routes

Starting March 29, 2026, Etihad Airways will significantly increase its flights to Europe. Dublin will see its weekly service from Abu Dhabi grow from 10 to 13 flights. By April 6, these will rise to 14 flights weekly, providing passengers with two daily services.

The airline will utilize a combination of Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-9 aircraft to meet varying capacity needs while maintaining its high standards for premium cabin service.

Dublin remains a key market for Etihad, as it celebrated its 15th year of operations with the airline in 2022.

Prague will also gain daily service starting April 2026. This route will initially increase from four to six weekly flights on March 29, with a seventh frequency added by April 7.

The Prague service will be operated using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring 28 business class and 262 economy seats, underlining Etihad’s commitment to expanding its presence in Central Europe.

Aircraft Deployment and Configurations

The increase in European flights coincides with strategic changes in aircraft for certain Asian routes. From April 2, 2026, flights EY372 and EY373 between Abu Dhabi and Malé will be managed by the Airbus A321LR, replacing the Airbus A320.

This modification aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve the on-board experience for passengers heading to the Maldives.

A similar transition will occur for the Abu Dhabi to Phuket route, which will begin partial A321LR operation from April 1. Flights EY414 and EY415 will now make this transition a month earlier than originally planned, with Etihad planning to serve Phuket four times daily during the summer of 2026.

Reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s Role

The enhancements to its network emphasize Abu Dhabi’s position as a key international hub. By expanding capacities to significant European and Asian leisure markets, Etihad Airways enhances connectivity for point-to-point and transfer traffic.

This strategy not only supports tourism but also bolsters trade and global travel links, further establishing Abu Dhabi International Airport’s competitive edge in the Middle Eastern aviation landscape.
