First Asian Airline Launches Pre-Order Pizza for Passengers
HANOI— Vietnam Airlines (VN) has made waves in the aviation industry by introducing paid onboard meals for the first time. The delectable offerings will feature dishes from the well-loved restaurant chain, Pizza 4P’s. This service will officially commence on December 1, 2025, for select flights departing from Hanoi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN).
The meals will be available on domestic routes that last at least 60 minutes, along with international flights exceeding 90 minutes. This innovative collaboration with Pizza 4P’s marks a significant shift towards a more tailored, co-branded in-flight dining experience.

Vietnam’s New Meal Sales
Starting December 1, passengers can pre-order a half pizza from Pizza 4P’s, choosing between the Margherita or Four Cheese options for VND 119,000 (about US$4.50).
To maintain quality and ensure timely delivery, customers must place their order a minimum of 24 hours before departure via Vietnam Airlines’ website or mobile app.
This marks the airline’s first venture into selling a full meal as an additional service on its flights. While other domestic airlines have previously provided food, drinks, and souvenirs on board, Vietnam Airlines has historically offered complimentary meals along with occasional add-ons, like milk tea introduced in 2022.

Ordering Process for Pizza 4P in VN
Passengers will need to book their orders at least a day in advance, which allows the airline to efficiently manage catering logistics at cruising altitude.
Customers can log into Vietnam Airlines’ digital portal or mobile app to select their flight and meal options. The pizza will arrive on board in packaging designed to maintain freshness.
For flights that do not meet the time requirements or for those who miss the pre-order window, the airline will continue offering its existing complimentary services, including beverages.

Vietnam’s Strategic Push
This new offering aims to elevate the passenger experience by providing more flexible dining options. The partnership with Pizza 4P’s is in line with a growing trend toward personalized services, specifically tailored for families, young travelers, and international guests.
By collaborating with a renowned restaurant chain rather than a conventional airline caterer, Vietnam Airlines hopes to meet consumer demand for high-quality, recognizable food in the air. Founded in 2011 by a Japanese couple, Pizza 4P’s has become a full-service restaurant brand rather than a fast-food option, expanding to 40 locations including 35 within Vietnam and others in Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, and India.

Bottom Line
Vietnam Airlines’ introduction of Pizza 4P’s meals onboard signifies a pivotal evolution in their service, offering passengers a modern alternative to traditional in-flight catering.
This venture not only brings a trusted restaurant brand to the skies but also incorporates a convenient pre-order system that promises consistent quality.
For travelers on eligible domestic or international flights departing from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, a familiar pizza awaits—provided they place their order in advance. Would you be tempted to indulge in a slice of pizza during your next flight?
