Air India and airBaltic Enhance Collaboration with New Codeshare Deal
Air India and airBaltic have unveiled a new unilateral codeshare agreement, building upon their interline arrangement initiated in June 2025.
With the announcement made on December 30, 2025, Air India passengers will now find it easier to explore the Baltic region. The new codeshare partnership allows Air India travelers to book tickets that provide seamless access to airBaltic flights from Riga, the capital of Latvia, connecting with Air India’s European destinations.
Air Indian gateways in Europe, such as Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Milan Malpensa, Vienna, Zurich, and London-Gatwick, are now more reachable than ever.
Additionally, this collaboration enables Air India customers to journey to Tallinn in Estonia and Vilnius in Lithuania using select Air India gateways throughout Europe, effectively enhancing access to the Baltic area.
To facilitate this codeshare expansion, Air India has started integrating its ‘AI’ designator code on airBaltic flights to Riga.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, remarked, “This expanded partnership with airBaltic reflects Air India’s commitment to providing seamless global connectivity to our customers across the world. Latvia and the wider Baltic region are growing travel markets, but getting there for our customers was previously not as convenient as it now becomes with airBaltic on board with us.”
Since its privatization in 2022, Air India has successfully formed 24 codeshare partnerships and nearly 100 interline agreements with prominent airlines globally.
