Air Canada to Enhance Toronto-Orlando Route with Boeing 777 Capacity Boost
Air Canada (AC), Canada’s flagship airline, is set to elevate its Toronto to Orlando flight service by introducing its high-capacity Boeing 777 aircraft starting February 28. This strategic move will enhance travel options for passengers flying from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) during the busy winter travel season.
Currently, Air Canada operates the YYZ-MCO route using Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. However, the upcoming addition of the Boeing 777-300ER, which features a staggering 450 seats, signifies a substantial upgrade in passenger capacity and comfort for this popular route.
Air Canada’s New Toronto to Orlando Schedule
Beginning on February 28 and running until March 14, Air Canada will offer three weekly flights on the Toronto to Orlando route:

Outbound Flight AC1090:
- Departure: Toronto Pearson International Airport at 8:00 PM
- Arrival: Orlando at 11:09 PM
- Return Flight AC1085:
- Departure: Orlando at 7:00 AM
- Arrival: Toronto at 9:47 AM
This schedule not only provides convenient timings for travelers but also showcases Air Canada’s commitment to enhancing winter travel options.
Boeing 777-300ER Features
The Boeing 777-300ER will come equipped with:
- Cabin Class Configuration:
- Business Class: 28 seats with a pitch of 75-78 inches and flat bed options.
- Premium Economy: 24 seats with a 38-inch pitch and recliner features.
- Economy Class: 398 standard seats with a pitch of 31 inches.
Every seat will feature a personal in-seat audio-video console offering over 50 hours of entertainment. Additionally, Business and Premium Economy passengers will have access to 110v AC power ports, while Economy passengers can find power ports conveniently located between seats.
Moreover, Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi will be available on selected routes, enhancing connectivity for travelers.
A Competitive Route
The YYZ-MCO route is highly competitive, serviced by multiple Canadian carriers. Other airlines on this route include:
- Air Canada Rouge: Operates Airbus A321s
- Flair Airlines: Deploys Boeing 737 MAX 8s
- Porter Airlines: Uses Embraer E195 E2 aircraft
- WestJet: Operates a Boeing 737 fleet
Orlando International Airport is renowned for its extensive connectivity, currently serving 60 international destinations. Interestingly, no U.S. carrier operates this route, although Delta Air Lines has a codeshare agreement with WestJet.
Additional Air Canada Network Updates
In addition to the Toronto to Orlando route enhancement, Air Canada has announced new direct flights to Tampa (TPA), Raleigh (RDU), and Nashville (BNA). The airline is also increasing capacity to Austin (AUS), Denver (DEN), and Miami (MIA).
With these developments, Air Canada strengthens its position as the largest carrier in the Transborder market, offering over 200 daily flights to more than 45 destinations by Summer 2025.
