United Airlines Reveals New Polaris Studio on B787
United Airlines Introduces ‘United Elevated’ Interiors for Boeing 787-9 Aircraft
United Airlines is set to revolutionize long-haul international travel with the introduction of its ‘United Elevated’ interiors for the new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, expected to launch by 2026. This innovative design focuses on enhancing passenger comfort and experience, making it a game-changer in the airline industry.
Premium Seating Options on the Boeing 787-9
The United Elevated interiors feature a comprehensive transformation, boasting a total of 99 premium seats – the highest percentage among US carriers. The design includes eight exclusive United Polaris Studio suites located in the front row of each business class section. Each suite offers lie-flat, all-aisle-access seating that is 25% larger than the standard United Polaris. Key features include:
- Privacy doors for enhanced seclusion
- An additional ottoman seat for guests
- Exclusive entrée options and Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche service
- New amenity kits for a luxurious touch
- Wireless charging and Bluetooth connectivity
- A 27-inch, 4K OLED seatback screen, currently the largest among US carriers
In addition to the suites, standard United Polaris seats will also be upgraded to feature sliding doors and larger, 19-inch 4K OLED screens.
Enhanced Economy Experience
United Airlines is not only elevating its premium offerings; economy seats will also see significant upgrades. Every seat will be fitted with Bluetooth connectivity and larger screens, ensuring that all passengers enjoy an enhanced travel experience.
Moreover, United has committed over $150 million to improve food and beverage options by 2025. The economy cabins will offer expanded dining choices, including three entrée selections, new desserts, and an appetizer course.
Plans for the Future of International Travel
Andrew Nocella, United’s EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing a superior international experience. "These innovations not only enhance customer experience but also position United for growth in the coming decade," he stated.
The first United Boeing 787-9 aircraft featuring the Elevated interior is expected to arrive before the end of 2025. The inaugural international flights will operate from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and London Heathrow International Airport (LHR) in 2026.

The United Elevated interiors will include:
