Emirates Secures 7-Year Partnership with Bayern Munich, 6-Time Champions League Champs
The Emirates airline has struck a significant seven-year sponsorship deal with FC Bayern Munich, one of the elite clubs in European football celebrated for their six UEFA Champions League victories. This partnership was officially announced on August 6, 2025, positioning Emirates as a ‘Platinum Partner’ for the team from the 2025-26 season until the 2031-32 season.
Bayern Munich boasts a remarkable global fanbase exceeding 140 million and consistently attracts prominent sports figures, including England’s captain, Harry Kane. The partnership entails perimeter advertising at the Allianz Arena during all Bundesliga matches, along with joint promotional activities across both Emirates and Bayern Munich’s social and digital platforms.
As part of the sponsorship, Emirates will enjoy enhanced brand visibility through LED boards and premium pitch cam carpets during matches. Additionally, the agreement encompasses exclusive ticket and hospitality perks, as well as a dedicated Emirates skybox at the Allianz Arena.
The airline’s branding will also feature prominently in various public and digital events, including backdrop displays during press conferences and interviews in the flash zone.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates, expressed pride in the collaboration, stating, “We are immensely proud to partner with FC Bayern—Germany’s most iconic football club and a true global sporting giant. This landmark partnership represents far more than a commercial agreement; it embodies our deep commitment to Germany, which stands as a cornerstone of our European network.”
He further stated, “We look forward to building meaningful relationships with millions of devoted FC Bayern fans around the world, while celebrating excellence, a value that defines both Emirates and FC Bayern.”
This partnership marks Emirates’ return to the Bundesliga and expands its rich portfolio of sports affiliations. The airline has a longstanding history with prominent teams, including Chelsea FC and AC Milan, and has been associated with Arsenal London for nearly two decades, even naming their home stadium after the airline.
Beyond football, Emirates engages in various sports, including sailing, cricket, golf, rugby, and tennis, and takes pride in sponsoring all four Grand Slam tennis tournaments.
Michael Diederich, Deputy Chairman of FC Bayern, remarked, “FC Bayern is very pleased to have gained a strong and shining partner in Emirates, which has been a committed supporter of club football in Europe for decades. FC Bayern also needs financial planning security to achieve its sporting goals, so Emirates is an ideal fit for our club’s family of partners.”
A report from December 2024 highlighted that approximately $1.2 billion has been invested in the sports industry through various sponsorship agreements, showcasing the robust financial landscape surrounding sports partnerships.
