STARLUX Unveils New Partnership with American Airlines

Taiwan’s STARLUX Airlines has recently made headlines with its new nonstop flights from Phoenix, Arizona, to Taipei set to launch in early 2026. Alongside this significant announcement, STARLUX revealed a commercial partnership with American Airlines, formalized on August 15, 2025. This collaboration aims to enhance traveler convenience by providing more accessible routes between North America and Taipei.

The interline partnership between STARLUX and American Airlines focuses on creating smoother travel experiences for passengers. It allows for single-ticket bookings and through-checked luggage between American’s extensive North American network and STARLUX’s transpacific and Asian routes. With this new arrangement, travelers can connect to Taipei easily from several U.S. cities, including New York, Chicago, Miami, and more.

“We feel privileged to partner with American Airlines, a leading airline in the United States,” stated Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX Airlines. This collaboration is expected to expand STARLUX’s footprint in the U.S. market, offering American’s customers more travel options to Taipei and boosting the airline’s reach.

American Airlines expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the convenience it offers. “We are thrilled to provide our customers with more travel options through STARLUX,” said Anmol Bhargava, Senior Vice President of Alliances at American Airlines. This collaboration promises to connect travelers from Taipei to over 250 destinations across North America.

With the introduction of flights from Taipei to Phoenix, the networks of both airlines will align more closely. Phoenix, being a pivotal hub for American Airlines in the southwestern U.S., offers strategic advantages for travelers arriving from Taipei. STARLUX has timed its Phoenix flights to enable seamless connections to American flights heading to major U.S. cities like New York, Dallas, and Charlotte.
