Airbus A320 Surpasses Boeing 737 as World’s Top-Selling Airliner
TOULOUSE- The Airbus A320 has officially surpassed the Boeing 737 in total commercial jet deliveries, achieving a significant milestone in aviation history. The recent delivery to Saudi Arabia’s flyadeal from Toulouse–Blagnac Airport (TLS) brought the total A320 family deliveries to 12,260 aircraft.
This marks the first time since 1968 that Boeing has been outpaced in the single-aisle market, a segment it had dominated for over fifty years. Now, Airbus is leading the charge in providing aircraft that predominantly serve short- and medium-haul flights around the globe.

The A320 family has now achieved 12,260 deliveries, surpassing Boeing 737’s tally of 12,259. The record-breaking aircraft delivered was an A320neo to flyadeal, a low-cost carrier in Saudi Arabia. This accomplishment reflects Airbus’s long-term strategy of developing a modern, efficient, and flexible narrowbody lineup, from the A318 to the A321XLR.
