Enhanced Economy Class with Free Meals

Ghaith Al Ghaith, the CEO of Flydubai, noted this decision marks a “significant evolution” in the airline’s business strategy. The incorporation of complimentary meals and entertainment in the Economy Class highlights the airline’s dedication to advancing travel convenience and enhancing passenger satisfaction.

According to Al Ghaith, Flydubai remains committed to investing in services and technologies aimed at providing a smoother, elevated travel experience. The rollout of these features is anticipated to occur gradually starting in early November 2025.

Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer, mentioned that the introduction of these amenities will lead to changes in the Economy Class fare structure. While details about specific pricing were not revealed, he assured that competitive fares will persist, incorporating added value with each ticket.

Having advanced from a low-cost model, Flydubai has introduced features like Business Class seating and a dedicated lounge at Terminal 2, enhancing onboard products over the years. This recent upgrade hints at the airline’s transition towards a hybrid model that merges affordability with upscale elements.

Fleet and Network Expansion

By the close of 2025, Flydubai is expected to receive nine additional Boeing 737 aircraft, bringing its fleet to a total of 95 jets. Next year, three more planes will be added as the airline aims to grow its network to over 135 destinations.

This expansion is part of Flydubai’s strategic plan to enhance connectivity between Dubai and less-served markets in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

To bolster these operations, the airline has been retrofitting its fleet with lie-flat Business Class seats and new Economy configurations in its Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Additionally, Flydubai plans to hire hundreds of new staff for cabin crew and ground operations.
