Air Côte d’Ivoire Expands Fleet with Four Embraer E175s at Dubai Airshow 2025
Air Côte d’Ivoire has committed to acquiring four Embraer E175 aircraft, with options for an additional eight. This move is part of the West African airline’s plan to upgrade its fleet and improve regional connectivity.
The announcement came on November 17, 2025, during the Dubai Airshow 2025, and these aircraft will be incorporated into Embraer’s Q4 2025 production schedule.
The E175s will feature a two-class layout with a total of 76 seats, which includes 12 in Business Class. Deliveries are expected to start in the first half of 2027.
“Perfectly adapted to the size of African markets”
Air Côte d’Ivoire intends to deploy these jets on domestic and regional routes, gradually replacing its Bombardier Dash 8-Q400 turboprop fleet. The airline chose the E175 due to its superior speed, extended range, larger cargo capacity, and enhanced passenger comfort compared to turboprops, creating a more adaptable platform for West and Central African markets.
The new aircraft will also boost connectivity through Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) in Abidjan, especially after the airline initiated long-haul flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
Laurent Loukou, Chief Executive Officer of Air Côte d’Ivoire, stated, “This order marks a significant step in our fleet development strategy. The Embraer E175 is perfectly suited to our domestic and regional ambitions. Its capacity is ideally matched to the size of African markets.”
Embraer strengthens its position in Africa
Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, noted that Air Côte d’Ivoire’s addition reinforces Embraer’s standing in the market for aircraft with a capacity of up to 150 seats on the continent.
Currently, 250 of Embraer’s aircraft are operational with 56 different operators in Africa. Over the last decade, the manufacturer’s presence on the continent has expanded at an impressive annual growth rate of 7.5 percent, resulting in a significant 31% market share for aircraft under 150 seats.
