Air India Unveils Exciting New In-Flight Menu Featuring 18 Meal Options

GURUGRAM- Air India, a part of the Tata Group, is set to unveil an updated international in-flight menu that harmonizes authentic Indian regional cuisines with global flair.

This revamped menu will gradually become available starting November 2025 on various international flights leaving from India, including routes from Delhi (DEL) to London Heathrow (LHR), New York (JFK/EWR), Washington Dulles (IAD), Toronto (YYZ), Melbourne (MEL), Sydney (SYD), and Dubai (DXB).

The launch will also extend to international routes from Mumbai (BOM) and Bengaluru (BLR), including San Francisco (SFO) and additional destinations. A complete rollout is expected across all international and domestic flights in the following months.

Culinary Inspiration

Curated by Chef Sandeep Kalra, the new menu is a tapestry of India’s rich culinary traditions. It showcases a delightful mix of influences, from Awadhi royal recipes and classic Delhi street food to traditional South Indian dishes. In addition, Pan-Asian, European bistro, and region-specific highlight dishes will be available.

Air India’s new dining experience beautifully combines the diverse flavors of India with international cuisine, ensuring that every traveler finds something to savor.

Signature dishes such as South Indian platters and Awadhi thalis promise to deliver a taste of heritage, offering an authentic experience at 35,000 feet.

Elevated Dining Across Classes

First Class travelers will be treated to gourmet meals complete with artisanal breads, signature desserts, and tailored wine and champagne pairings.

Business Class passengers can enjoy a series of multi-course gourmet meals with customizable options and curated drink pairings.

Premium Economy and Economy travelers will benefit from upgraded meal trays featuring balanced, wholesome selections that reflect regional flavors, all presented in an enhanced manner.

Highlighting Signature Dishes

Some of the Indian favorites include:

  • Awadhi Paneer Anjeer Pasanda (vegetarian Awadhi thali) and Murgh Massalam (non-vegetarian Awadhi thali) in First and Business Class
  • Traditional South Indian platters in First and Business Class
  • Rajasthani besan chilla, Malabari chicken curry, and malai palak kofta in Premium Economy

International offerings feature:

  • Japanese Teppanyaki Bowl, citrus tiger prawns, and oriental napa cabbage and tofu rollmops in First Class
  • Seoul flamed prawns, manicotti forestiere, and Mediterranean tapas in Business Class

Business Class menus also include Gen Z favorites like chicken bibimbap and matcha delice, while comfort food options range from masala dal khichdi to stuffed parantha.

Special Dietary Options

Air India (AI) boasts a selection of over 18 special meal types, making it one of the most diverse offerings globally. This range caters to vegan, gluten-free, and allergen-conscious diets, alongside various modern lifestyle preferences.

Passengers can select their meals in advance via the Air India app, where they can view chef’s notes, allergen information, and customization options.

The airline prioritizes locally sourced seasonal ingredients to support local farmers, minimize food miles, and ensure maximum freshness from farm to table.
