Etihad Airways Reports Record-Breaking 2 Million Passengers in July 2025
Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, experienced a significant growth in passenger numbers for July 2025, with a total of two million travelers. This marks a 19% increase compared to July 2024, when the airline accommodated 1.7 million passengers.
On August 13, 2025, Etihad released its traffic statistics, highlighting the “ongoing growth in passenger volumes and network expansion.” This upward trend reflects the airline’s effective strategies in managing capacity to meet strong demand.
The passenger load factor saw an increase to 90%, up by 1% from July 2024. This performance aspect indicates robust demand, aligning with the airline’s successful capacity management efforts.
So far in 2025, Etihad has served 12.2 million passengers, representing a 17% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The average passenger load factor has also improved, rising to 88%, which is a 2% increase from the previous year.
Moreover, the total number of passengers over the last year reached 20.3 million. Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, noted this as an impressive milestone, stating, “Our rolling 12-month total has surpassed 20 million for the first time in our history, reflecting the trust our customers place in our service and the strength of our network.”
Etihad currently operates a fleet of 111 aircraft, serving 81 passenger destinations—up from 76 last year. This expansion underlines the airline’s continuous investment in enhancing its fleet and route offerings.
Record Aircraft Deliveries in July 2025
July 2025 was also a historic month for Etihad regarding aircraft deliveries. The airline took delivery of five new aircraft, including its first Airbus A321LR, two Boeing 787 Dreamliners, one Airbus A350-1000, and one Airbus A320.
Neves described July as a “record month” for the airline. He emphasized that adding these new aircraft highlights Etihad’s commitment to growth and expanding capacity across its global network.
The inaugural Airbus A321LR, part of a planned fleet expansion of 30 A321LR aircraft, was received at the end of July 2025. Commercial flights for this aircraft commenced on August 1, 2025, initially on the Abu Dhabi–Phuket route, with further rotations scheduled as part of the airline’s broader expansion strategy.
