airBaltic Enhances Summer 2026 with 6 New Routes and 30 Additional Flights
Latvian airline airBaltic is planning to launch six new routes, resume three previously served destinations, and boost frequency on nearly 30 existing routes from its bases across the Baltic States.
In a statement issued on September 2, 2025, the airline announced that these enhancements will take effect during the upcoming summer season, which will span from late March to late October 2026.
“The additions and increases we are implementing for summer 2026 demonstrate our commitment to strengthening connectivity between Latvia, the Baltic States, and the wider world,” stated Thomas Ramdahl, Chief Commercial Officer at airBaltic.
From its primary hub in Riga, Latvia, airBaltic will introduce flights to Kaunas, Lithuania; Oulu, Finland; and Antalya, Turkey, which had previously operated only as a charter destination.
Simonas Bartkus, CEO of Lithuanian Airports, highlighted that this marks the first-ever service from a network carrier at Kaunas.
“Our terminal expansion at Kaunas Airport is nearing completion. In the upcoming two months, we will open new gate areas, a new duty-free shop, and more. The ongoing infrastructure developments are certainly welcomed by airlines,” Bartkus shared on LinkedIn.
From its Tallinn base, the airline plans to enhance connectivity with fresh flights to Athens, Greece; Hamburg, Germany; and Vienna, Austria.
Additionally, airBaltic will resume three routes from Riga, including flights to Aberdeen in the United Kingdom; Belgrade, Serbia; and Yerevan, Armenia.
The airline will also increase frequencies on close to 30 existing routes: 20 from Riga, two from Tallinn, six from Vilnius, and one from Tampere, Finland. Destinations such as Istanbul, Larnaca, Malaga, Malta, Milan, Nice, Palma de Mallorca, and Tbilisi will see more services.
For summer 2026, airBaltic anticipates operating almost 110 routes from all its bases, marking an approximate 7% increase compared to the summer season of 2025.
