United Airlines CEO: No Major Impact from US Tariffs
United Airlines’ CEO Scott Kirby reassured stakeholders during the April 2025 earnings call that tariffs imposed by President Trump will not significantly affect the airline’s aircraft orders. Despite a dip in international passenger demand, Kirby emphasized the strength of the aerospace sector and United’s position as Boeing’s top customer in 2024. Air India Fined ₹30 Lakh for Pilot Recency Violation
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has fined Air India ₹30 lakh for safety violations after a first officer operated a flight without completing mandatory takeoffs and landings. The DGCA criticized the airline’s rostering system, which allowed this breach, and has mandated disciplinary actions against three senior rostering officials. This penalty, issued on January 29, 2025, follows previous fines for various safety and operational issues throughout 2024. The DGCA emphasizes its commitment to aviation safety, requiring Air India to report on corrective actions within 15 days and remit the fine within 30 days.
