Saudia and SriLankan Airlines Enhance Collaboration with New Partnership
Saudia and SriLankan Airlines are enhancing their connection through an expanded interline partnership.
According to SriLankan Airlines, this agreement aims to “reinforce the long-standing relationship between the two national flag carriers.”
In a post shared on October 10, 2025, SriLankan Airlines stated, “This enhanced collaboration connects 13 international destinations of SV network and 13 domestic points across Saudi Arabia, covering all three provinces to Sri Lanka and beyond.”
The airline emphasized that “Passengers across the kingdom can now enjoy greater convenience, improved connectivity, and wider travel options across both networks.”
This announcement coincided with Saudia’s launch of its inaugural direct flight to Moscow from Riyadh, executed in partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority and the Air Connectivity Program.
On October 10, 2025, the Saudia Boeing 787-10 took off from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) at 09:46 and landed at Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) six hours later.
Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, remarked on the significance of this new route: “Launching direct flights between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation marks a substantial step in strengthening bilateral relations across economic and developmental fields, while also opening new opportunities for cultural exchange between our two nations.”
He further noted, “This milestone directly supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly those related to the aviation sector, by contributing to connecting the Kingdom with more than 250 international destinations.”
