Air India Announces Flight Services to Major Global City After 6-Year Hiatus

DELHI- Air India (AI), owned by Tata Group, is set to reinstate nonstop flights between Delhi (DEL) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG) starting February 1, 2026. This significant move marks Air India’s return to mainland China after nearly six years. Additionally, the airline plans to introduce services from Mumbai (BOM) to Shanghai (PVG) in 2026, pending regulatory approval.

This decision enhances connectivity between India and China, with Shanghai becoming Air India’s 48th international destination. Currently, Air India serves more international passengers than any other Indian airline.
