Emirates Launches Ultra-Long-Range A350 Featuring Premium Economy in Adelaide

Emirates has marked a significant milestone by introducing its first Airbus A350 to Adelaide, Australia, making it the initial city in their global network to welcome this ultra-long-range aircraft equipped with a new Premium Economy cabin.

On December 1, 2025, the A350 touched down in Adelaide, met with a ceremonial water cannon salute attended by South Australian government officials and airport representatives.

“While we have been receiving A350 deliveries over the past year, this marks the first long-range variant capable of operating flights between Dubai and Adelaide,” stated Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President for Emirates in Australasia. “Adelaide was specifically chosen for this new aircraft ahead of time.”

The Airbus A350-900ULR has taken over Emirates’ EK440/441 services, replacing the previous Boeing 777-200LR on this route.

Travelers can now enjoy an updated schedule: EK440 departs Dubai at 02:00 local time, arriving in Adelaide at 20:50. The return flight, EK441, leaves Adelaide at 22:50, landing back in Dubai at 05:20 the following day.

The Premium Economy cabin boasts cream-colored leather upholstery, elegant wooden panel finishes, fully adjustable seating, personal entertainment screens, and thoughtfully curated dining and amenity options. Passengers will also appreciate priority boarding, a designated check-in area, and an increased baggage allowance.

As Emirates confirmed, Adelaide now joins the ranks of the five Australian cities offering this enhanced cabin experience.

With the addition of Adelaide, the airline’s Australian network is now fully equipped with its latest-generation aircraft. This includes the luxurious four-class A380, the four-class Boeing 777 operating from Melbourne, and the new A350 to Adelaide.
