Wizz Air Boosts Luton Connections with New Routes from TUI Slot Acquisition
Wizz Air has exciting plans for 2026, announcing an expansion of its operations at London-Luton Airport (LTN).
The popular low-cost airline will introduce a new Airbus A321neo aircraft to its fleet at Luton, enabling the launch of six new routes for the summer season of 2026.
New Nonstop Services
Beginning June 12-13, 2026, travelers can look forward to twice-weekly flights from Luton to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia (EVN), and to the picturesque Greek island of Corfu (CFU). Additional nonstop options will include thrice-weekly services to Lyon (LYS) and Turin (TRN), along with more frequent flights to Faro (FAO) in Portugal and Alicante (ALC) in Spain, running four and five times per week, respectively.
Expanded Capacity
This growth comes after Wizz Air’s recent acquisition of slots at Luton previously held by TUI Airways. The airline is strategically adjusting its capacity to European markets, particularly in Western Europe, as it steps back from its operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Additionally, Wizz Air is deferring deliveries of some A320neo family aircraft to better align with its operational strategy.
Earlier Announcements
In early 2025, Wizz Air had already revealed plans to enhance its presence at Luton by adding services to five popular Spanish destinations: Barcelona (BCN), Madrid (MAD), Bilbao (BIO), Valencia (VLC), and Seville (SVQ).
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, Wizz Air is also set to strengthen its position in Israel, with plans for new bases at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) and Ramon Airport (ETM).
