Gulf Air Chooses Starlink for Comprehensive Inflight Wi-Fi Across Fleet
Gulf Air has recently made headlines by becoming the latest airline to partner with Elon Musk’s Starlink for onboard Wi-Fi services. The rollout is anticipated to commence around mid-2026.
On January 27, 2026, Gulf Air announced that all passengers will enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi access throughout their flight experience, from the moment they board until they reach their destination.
Martin Gauss, the newly appointed CEO of Gulf Air, formally signed the agreement with Nick Seitz, the Global Head of Starlink Aviation, at the Awal Private Terminal in Bahrain. This significant event was attended by Gulf Air Group Chairman Khalid Hussain Taqi, alongside key government officials and leaders from the aviation sector.
“Implementing Starlink across our fleet underscores our dedication to enhancing passenger experiences. With advanced connectivity available on every flight, we are setting new expectations for travelers utilizing the national carrier. Additionally, this aligns with Bahrain’s digital transformation initiatives and allows our cabin crew to provide exceptional service,” Taqi expressed.

By integrating Starlink, Gulf Air is joining a growing trend among airlines adopting this technology to enhance internet connectivity for passengers during flights.
“With Starlink on board, Gulf Air is introducing next-generation connectivity for all travelers—whether flying for leisure or business. Passengers will be able to stream content, play games, work, or stay connected with family and friends, independent of cabin or ticket class. This enhancement elevates the travel experience and reinforces our commitment to providing premium connectivity for every journey,” Gauss noted.
In recent months, Lufthansa Group has also signed up for Starlink services, with its subsidiaries such as SWISS, Lufthansa, and Brussels Airlines poised to benefit. Other airlines, including Emirates, IAG, flydubai, and various carriers under the Hanjin Group—such as Korean Air, Asiana, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul—have made similar commitments to integrate Starlink into their fleets.
