Air Canada Unveils New Adjustments to Regional Flight Network
MONTREAL- Air Canada (AC) has announced the addition of new regional routes, linking Ottawa (YOW) to Fredericton (YFC) and Moncton (YQM), starting on December 15, 2025. Additionally, there will be flights connecting Vancouver (YVR) to Fort McMurray (YMM) beginning December 2, 2025.
The airline will also enhance services from Toronto (YYZ) to Sudbury (YSB) with additional flights commencing February 1, 2026. However, services to Bathurst (ZBF) and North Bay (YYB) will be suspended.
These adjustments fortify Air Canada’s domestic network, which now offers over 60,000 daily seats across 49 destinations in Canada. The new routes will be operated using Air Canada Express Q400 aircraft, optimizing connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.

Air Canada Expands Flight Network
Air Canada (AC) is expanding its domestic routes in response to increasing travel demands across Canada.
Effective December 15, 2025, daily flights will connect Ottawa (YOW) to both Fredericton (YFC)—the capital of New Brunswick—and Moncton (YQM), the province’s largest city. These routes are designed for year-round operation utilizing the Air Canada Express Q400 aircraft, ensuring seamless links to the carrier’s broader domestic network.
Furthermore, nonstop flights from Vancouver (YVR) to Fort McMurray (YMM) will begin on December 2, 2025, operating three times a week to serve the corporate travel market linked to Air Canada’s Vancouver hub.
In addition, from February 1, 2026, Air Canada will increase its Toronto (YYZ) to Sudbury (YSB) flights by 50%, moving from two to three daily flights, to better accommodate the rising demand from Northern Ontario travelers.
Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, stated that these updates align with the airline’s ongoing commitment to improve connectivity in underserved areas while enhancing operational efficiency.

Flight Timings and Details
The new routes come with well-planned schedules to ensure optimal connectivity:
- Ottawa (YOW) to Fredericton (YFC): Flight AC2548 leaves at 15:40 and arrives at 18:10 daily, starting December 15, 2025, with the return flight (AC2549) departing Fredericton at 16:15 and reaching Ottawa at 17:00.
- Ottawa (YOW) to Moncton (YQM): Flight AC7890 departs at 17:55, reaching Moncton at 20:40 daily, beginning December 15, 2025. The return service (AC7891) departs Moncton at 05:50, landing in Ottawa at 07:00 from December 16, 2025.
- Vancouver (YVR) to Fort McMurray (YMM): Flight AC7790 leaves at 15:10 and arrives at 18:31 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, starting December 2, 2025, with the return flight departing at 19:10.
- Toronto (YYZ) to Sudbury (YSB): From February 1, 2026, the number of flights will increase from two to three daily, raising seat capacity by 50% in response to demand.
All flights will be operated using Air Canada Express Q400 aircraft, recognized for their reliability in regional services. Tickets can be purchased through Air Canada’s official channels or travel agents.

Adjustments to Network Operations
To maintain financial sustainability, Air Canada (AC) will suspend its services to Bathurst (ZBF) and North Bay (YYB) effective January 30, 2026.
Although challenging, these decisions comply with the Canada Transportation Act’s regulations.
Affected passengers will be afforded necessary support, guaranteeing minimal disruption to their travel plans.
These suspensions enable Air Canada to focus resources on high-demand routes, reinforcing its network’s long-term growth strategy.
