Vietnam’s tourism sector has seen notable growth recently, thanks to favorable government policies, increased investments in infrastructure, and easier visa processes.
In 2024, the country welcomed over 17.5 million international visitors, marking a 39.5% increase compared to the previous year and exceeding tourism targets.
The announcement of the new route follows Vietjet’s impressive financial performance for the first half of 2025.
The airline reported air transport earnings of VND 35.6 trillion ($1.35 billion) and a pre-tax profit of nearly VND 1.6 trillion ($60.7 million), reflecting a 37% growth over 2024. Total consolidated revenue reached VND 35.8 trillion (approximately $1.36 billion), with pre-tax profits exceeding VND 1.65 trillion ($62.6 million), showcasing a remarkable 65% year-on-year increase.
From January to June 2025, Vietjet operated 79,000 flights, accommodating 14.4 million passengers.
During this period, the airline also made headlines by placing an order for 20 A330neo aircraft from Airbus, bringing its total orders for that model to 40, making it the largest A330neo order holder globally.
At the 2025 Paris Air Show, Vietjet further solidified its position by announcing an order for 100 A321neo aircraft, including 50 optional purchases, achieving the largest order announcement at the event.
